Kentucky’s Mammoth Cave was already the longest cave program in the earth.

“THE LONGEST CAVE IN THE World IS NOW EVEN Longer!!!” Mammoth Cave Countrywide Park announced on Facebook over the weekend.

An added 8 miles of passages were being mapped and explored by the nonprofit Cave Research Basis, according to the park, which has worked with foundation volunteers for a long time to doc newly learned regions of Mammoth Cave.

The cave system’s recognized length now stands at 420 miles, and the park says “there is no stop in sight.”
